President Joe Biden explained Sunday the U.S. is undertaking “everything in its power” to obtain 14 Americans remaining held hostage by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
In excerpts from an interview with CBS News’ “60 Minutes,” airing Sunday evening, Biden identified as Hamas’s attack very last week, which killed a lot more than 1,400 Israelis, which include at least 30 Us residents, “pure barbarism.”
“I say we’re likely to do anything in our electric power to discover them,” Biden told CBS News’ Scott Pelley, about the American hostages. “Everything in our power. And I’m not likely to go into the depth of that, but there is — we’re performing like hell on it.”
Biden also stated the U.S. can easily manage supporting its allies in simultaneous wars in Ukraine and Gaza.
“We’re the United States of The united states for God’s sake, the most powerful country in the heritage — not in the environment, in the background of the environment,” Biden reported. “We can get treatment of both of those of these and continue to manage our total intercontinental protection. We have the capability to do this and we have an obligation … to paraphrase the previous secretary of condition: If we really don’t, who does?”
