How to Draw The Earth. We all know the Earth pretty well, and that’s to be expected since we all live on it! While we all know the Earth around us, it can get tricky to map it!
Also, check our frog colouring.
When people sit down to learn how to draw the Earth, they often find it harder than expected.
However, after reading this guide, you no longer have to be one of those people!
Working through this step-by-step guide to drawing the Earth will show you how easy it can be!
How to Draw The Earth
Step 1
To begin this guide to drawing the Earth, let’s start with a circle for the outline of the Earth.
That would be best if you could get this outline as a perfect circle! There are a few ways to draw a perfect circle; the best way is to use a compass.
This tool can be used with a pen or pencil to draw a perfect circle easily.
If you don’t have a drawing compass, you can always use a flat, round object to trace the outline.
Once the outline is drawn, you are ready for step 2!
Step 2
Now that you have the outline of your drawing of the Earth, you can start drawing the continents. The first continent we start with will be North America on the left side of the Earth.
For this step, use a pencil first and then review it with the pen when you are happy.
You should also follow the reference image carefully to get the shape of the continent that looks correct.
Step 3
We will be adding more continents in the next few steps of this Earth drawing guide.
For this part, we will draw the left side of England and Europe. Because of the Earth’s angle, we will only be able to see a small part of it.
As with the other parts of this guide, if this part proves difficult, you can draw with a pencil first!
Step 4
It’s time to travel to the shores of Africa for this step in your drawing of the Earth! Again, due to the angle of the Earth in this drawing, we will only be able to see a small portion of this continent.
That makes it at least a little easier to draw! After we have drawn the visible part of Africa, in the next step, we are ready for the last continent.
Step 5
This guide to drawing the Earth would only be complete with South America, so let’s add it now!
This continent will run directly under North America from step 2, and they should be so close that it appears they are almost touching.
That means all the continents are drawn, and you’re ready for the final step! Before proceeding, you can add details and change the image’s composition to make it your own.
You could draw a space background behind the Earth. You could do that and levitate an alien spaceship over the Earth too!
Another idea would be to draw a map around the Earth to make it look like an ancient map.
Step 6
You’ve reached the final step of your Earth drawing, and now comes the fun part of finishing your amazing drawing with beautiful colours!
This step allows you to get creative in picking the colours you want.
We’ve picked a nice blue and green colour scheme, but you could use many other options too!
One idea you could adopt would be to give each continent its unique colour scheme. You could even keep themed colours for each continent!
Another thing you could do is look at photos of each continent and then try to colour them realistically based on how they look in real life.
Once you know what colours to use, you can also have fun using different artistic mediums! A fun idea would be to mix media while colouring.
For example, you could use watercolours for oceanic areas while using coloured pencils for continents. You can even use a thin coat of white watercolour on specific spots to show cloud cover.
