Pursuing the controversy over Karnataka’s “sovereignty remark”, the Election Commission of India on Monday wrote to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge to “clarify and rectify” the party’s social media post which was attributed to previous social gathering main Sonia Gandhi, documented PTI.

He requested the PM to remedy why the BJP-Shiv Sena government of Maharashtra has “extended its techniques to 865 villages in Karnataka”.
“Is this not a bare breach of federalism? Why are Kannadiga youths not getting permitted to get the CRPF test in Kannada by the Modi government? Why was the tableau of Narayan Guru not permitted by the Modi federal government in the Republic Day parade?” Surjewala requested.
Meanwhile, Congress has sought action towards BJP leaders, together with Primary Minister Narendra Modi, Union Residence Minister Amit Shah, BJP president J P Nadda and Uttar Pradesh Main Minister Yogi Adityanath, over statements created all through the Karnataka poll marketing campaign.
